Hemodona

Blood donor platform connecting verified donors with people in need across the Balkans.

Hemodona

LaravelInertia.jsReactTailwind CSSFilament

Hemodona is a community platform that helps people find blood donors when hospitals and clinics cannot supply a match in time. Donors register with document verification, log donations, and appear in a searchable directory filtered by blood type, country, and city.

Purpose

Make it faster and safer to connect people who need blood with verified donors across North Macedonia, Albania, and Kosovo, without relying on scattered social media posts.

My role

Collaborator on the project alongside backend developer Lindiar Miftari , contributing to the Inertia.js and React frontend and product UX.

Key features

  • Donor registration with document upload and human verification before profiles go live
  • Searchable donor directory with filters for blood type, country, and city
  • Blood donation logging and profile management for verified donors
  • English, Albanian, Macedonian, and Turkish with locale-aware routing and content
  • Filament admin panel for review, verification, and platform moderation
  • Legal and verification policy pages, sitemap, robots.txt, and structured data for SEO

Design & development

Built as a Laravel and Inertia.js application with a React 19 frontend and Tailwind CSS 4. User flows were shaped around two journeys: someone urgently searching for a donor, and a donor registering, uploading documents, and staying reachable. The admin team reviews submissions in Filament before profiles publish, keeping trust at the center of the product.

Outcome

A live blood donor platform at https://hemodona.com that lets verified donors be found by blood type and location across three countries.

Customer focus

Patients, families, and clinics searching for compatible donors, plus volunteers who want a trusted place to register and help without exposing unverified contact details.
